What We Believe

Our Core Values:

Our core values serve as guiding principles, aligning our mission with biblical truths and influencing our actions to fulfill the ministry entrusted to us. As a church rooted in West Knoxville, we strategically engage with families, resource centers and other churches in our community embodying the Gospel at every intersection to shine God’s light everywhere we are (Matthew 5:14-16).

We fearlessly proclaim Biblical truths, recognizing the necessity of addressing even the most challenging topics (2 Timothy 4:2). Our stewardship reflects uncommon generosity, acknowledging that all resources ultimately belong to God (1 Chronicles 29:11-12).

Through purposeful and authentic engagement, we gather for worship, prayer, and study, directing our focus towards exalting Jesus and His teachings (Colossians 3:16-17). Strategically collaborating with our community to serve others, recognizing the expansiveness of God's Kingdom (1 Corinthians 12:4-6). By equipping families, we honor God's design for familial unity and purpose (Ephesians 6:4). We extend inclusivity and compassion to the marginalized and spiritually lost, embodying God's heart for the broken (Luke 15:3-7).

Foundational Beliefs:
At the core of our beliefs lies the acknowledgment of one Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—whose eternal existence and omnipotence are undeniably affirmed (Matthew 28:19). We affirm Jesus Christ as the incarnate Son of God, who, through His sacrificial death and resurrection, secured salvation for humanity (John 3:16). The Holy Spirit, a divine person, indwells believers, empowering them for holy living and effective witness (Acts 1:8). Our unwavering commitment to the authority of Scripture, as God-breathed and infallible, informs our faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16).

Humanity's State and Redemption:
Humanity, created in the image of God, stands in need of redemption due to the fall through Adam's sin (Genesis 1:26-27). Salvation, a gift of grace through faith in Jesus Christ, stands as the sole remedy for humanity's estrangement from God (Ephesians 2:8-9). The Church, the body and bride of Christ, is established and sustained by God's design, called to proclaim His redemptive work (Ephesians 5:25).

Final Redemption and Eschatological Hope:
Our hope rests in the imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead, ushering in the consummation of His Kingdom (Revelation 22:12). Those in Christ will inherit eternal life, while those apart from Him will face eternal separation from God (Matthew 25:46).

Worship, Mission, and Christian Service:
In response to God's grace, we engage in worship and mission, proclaiming the Gospel, nurturing fellowship, and demonstrating Kingdom values (Romans 12:1-2). Our participation in God's mission reflects our gratitude for His redemptive work and our commitment to advancing His Kingdom (1 Peter 2:9).

Conclusion:
As we navigate the complexities of faith and life, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit sustain us (2 Corinthians 13:14). In humble reliance on His Word and Spirit, may we faithfully fulfill the call to be His witnesses, both locally and globally (Acts 1:8).
